today was a brutal workout for me. As Todd puts it, I was DFL. Whenever my ego gets inflated or I am feeling fit, a workout like this comes along and brings me to my knees(well actually my back). I could simply not keep up today. I was trying hard too. Wow. The funny/sad thing is that this was my first day without taking lots of ibuprofen. I want to keep my kidneys so I may switch pain meds soon. Shannon suggested aspirin. Wondering if ibuprofen has been the only reason I have ever been able to finish a WOD. Todays experience sure made me wonder.

What specific symptoms have you been taking pain meds for? Beyond general sorenss you should honestly be pain free unless you are fighting a preexisting condition. Daily doses of anything (minus very small amounts of aspirin for the heart) are no good!
And xfit will always keep you humble... that's why it's so great! DFL is still way out in front of the rest of the population. I have co workers that get winded walking the stairs... down floors!
hi John, my muscles are sore almost every day. its not joint or nerve pain. i think because xfit changes so much, my muscles aren't getting used to anything and are staying sore.i just need to man up and stop taking anything. My heels are always really sore too. From here on out, i'm going to try to go ibuprofen free unless i have a bad head ache or something. before coming to the gym, i was one of those winded folks on the stairs. I see the light now. :)
